After some supernatural goings-on, Katie and her boyfriend Micah begin filming their lives, hoping to catch some supernatural footage. Katie has been experiencing these things since she was a child, so moving won’t help. After some research they discover that it is a demon rather than a spirit.

I’m sure most people have seen this movie by now, as well as the four sequels. This is another found footage film, claiming to be real, even though there is a disclaimer at the end stating that it is all fiction. The actors names are even the same as the characters, just like in the Blair Witch Project.

Three different endings were filmed, only one of which leads to the sequel. The second movie precedes, then at the end, follows. If you want to watch these chronologically, the order is: 3, 2, 1, 4, 5. There was also a prequel to the first one called Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, which I started watching two years ago but I couldn’t get into it. The writing and acting wasn’t great in my opinion. According to Wikipedia, it will take a few more instalments to complete the series.

Watch all five in the dark. I recommend chronologically, it might make more sense. This is a fantastic film series and I can’t wait for the next one.
