For Horror Movie Reviews, Top Lists and Other Movie Info
The themes present in those movies usually depict trauma and fear of something that is coming that you’re not quite prepared for. In Rosemary’s Baby (1968) there are ideas about the fear of motherhood and a woman’s loss of autonomy. In Black Swan (2010), the main character is dealing with the emotional toll that her dancing is taking on her. Cat People (1942) has the main character’s fear of her own sexuality, which was something women of the time did not talk about and movies didn’t address.
