Horror doesn’t always have to be about straight up terror and trauma. Tragedy and comedy are closely linked and the use of pathos can be common in horror in general. Comedy mostly amps everything up in the silliness when it comes to kills, characters and dialogue. Everyone chews the scenery like they know what kind of movie they’re making, blood flows brighter and more comically, and the tongue-in-cheek lines can either make you uncomfortable or laugh hysterically.
