Category: Christopher Lee
(27 May 1922 – 7 June 2015)
Born Christopher Frank Carandini Lee in Belgravia, London, England.
Notable works include: Dracula (1958), The Wicker Man (1973) and Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990).
As the longest serving Dracula (playing the role nine times), and the actor with the most amount of on screen deaths (70), Lee started to venture away from horror roles in the mid-to-late 70s after his move to Hollywood to avoid being typecast. He is still a horror icon and would return to the genre every so often.
Fun fact: Christopher’s life is full of fun facts, but I’m going to go with the fact that the horror trifecta: Lee, Vincent Price and Peter Cushing used to share a birthday party every year when they were all still alive. Christopher and Vincent were born on the 27th, while Peter was born the day before on the 26th.
