I've been a fan of Hitchcock for less than a decade. I had already seen Psycho and The Birds when I was younger, but I didn't truly begin to experience his extensive filmography until my late-20s after seeing James Rolfe's list of his top 10 Hitchcock movies. That was my jumping off point. I've now … Continue reading My Favourite Characters in Horror: Hitchcock – Top 10

(13 August 1899 – 29 April 1980)
Born Alfred Joseph Hitchcock in Leytonstone, Essex, England.
Notable works include: Vertigo (1958), Psycho (1960) and The Birds (1963).
The Master of Suspense made over 50 feature length films in his career; which won 6 of the 46 Academy Awards they were nominated for. He pioneered many filmmaking techniques such as POV shots and film in real-time, while tackling themes of subtle sexuality and the wrongfully accused man. His use of clever twists has made him an icon and influenced many of Hollywood’s most prominent filmmakers in the years that followed.
Fun fact: Alfred’s wife, Alma, was one day younger than him.

Dial M for Murder (1954) Review
This is my second favourite film with Grace Kelly, who was a frequent collaborator with Hitchcock, appearing in 3 consecutive movies: Dial M for Murder (1954), Rear Window (1954), and To Catch a Thief (1955). An ex-tennis pro named Tony invites an old acquaintance under the pretence that he is interested in buying a car … Continue reading Dial M for Murder (1954) Review
